I have alot of pictures on my computer that I'd like to use at least one of them as my avaitor, but for some reason they wont work, any words of wisdom from anyone?

try uploading them to an ftp account and use an image tag instead of uploading directly to the message board servers.

yeah, i've tried to upload pictures of people like the wright brothers and amelia earhart to make them my aviator too. it never works out...

Just downsize whatever pictures you want to upload into a 64 x 64 image and save it as a JPEG. This always works for me and makes the files small enough to upload. Of course, like Pringles, once you start making avatars you cannot stop.

I don't think we ever got to the bottom of why the boards won't let you upload avatars. I would do as others have suggested and find an alternative source for uploading the file to and linking to there.

Yea, I never did figure that out. Nor did I upgrade the board.. mostly because I was scared something would go horribly wrong and we'd lose everything.

BUT this does bring about a good point. The default avatar selection for this board pretty much blows. And that's my fault... I definetly neglected that. But since we're talking about it.. anyone into the idea of compiling a bunch of avatars to be used for the board instead of a random goldfish? I can upload them to the server and then you can use them, or whomever.

For some reason until I heard it somewhere I had always thought it was "avaiator" too. Not sure why, because looking at it now it looks nothing like that. I think it kind of sounds like a kind of dinosaur.
