TOPIC: do any of the features listen to clinic?

ok ok. lw is always making fun of me (well, im insecure and i figure he makes fun of me) for comparing everything to something else. like the fat luke look-a-like, or how frank-n-berry tastes like berry kix, or how lw looks like one of the get up kids on the cover of diw this month. does anyone that listens to clinic hear a resemblence in the very beginning of leave it all behind? i couldn't pick just one clinic song that it sounds like, more like clinic influenced. im trying to get better about this...

i think they're into some of the same bands that clinic is influenced by. i dont want to name any groups, because i'm probably way off.

Remember Cookie Crisp? Now that was a good message to children: 'Screw nutrition- eat cookies all day long!' Then there were Oreo O's. Soon they'll just have Frosted Flakes of Butter or Chocolate Cake O's.
I TOTALLY AGREE!

Keith, you are destined to rock. Never forget this.

man. I begged my mom to buy cookie crisp every time I saw the commercial with the policeman and robber (maybe a dog too?). She would never buy it for me, but I could always pull a fast one when visiting grandma and sneak it into the cart.

i have never had cookie crisp. i felt all independent once i got to college and could buy whatever cereal i wanted. not that my mom refused to let me have sweet cereal. i just never thought to ask for cookie crisp. i always wanted lucky charms instead. the other day i was at kroger and was overwhelmed by the enormous selection of . my hand went for the cookie crisp but then was drawn to choco donuts. soooo i guess i will never know the sweet goodness of cookie crisp. am i missing out? should i try it guys?

one time at little league practice, i puked up cookie crisp right by first base. i also vomited up wheaties while i was playing basketball. my favorite cereal is cracklin' oat bran. it looks like cat food, but it tastes like the angels blessed it with goodness. those dried strawberries make that new special k cereal worthwhile. i could do without the flakes though.

My roommates buy Cookie Crisp all the time. They eat it for a snack late at night usually. For some reason, the only cereal I have been able to eat that was that sweet is Fruity Pebbles. I'm usually a Rice Krispies or a Kix girl.

fruity pebbles is awesome but it makes some serious coating on the roof of your mouth.

Man I know. Is that just sugar build-up or what? It's pretty aggrevating whatever it is...

the absolute worse film you can get on the roof of your mouth (that is so gross) is from little debbie donut stix. choco donuts cereal does it too. its not really that gross and wont keep you from eating the cereal. i just threw that in for dramatic effect. to get that nice sugary coating to stick to the cereal they use lipids. so its just a long chain of carbons (fat) on the roof of your mouth. i am so glad i wasted a year of my life in organic chemistry so i could answer this question. woohoo.

See...all that stressing over tests and finals throughout the year was worth it. Ah, at least you will actually use that knowledge as opposed to some of the knowledge acquired through some of ETSU's finest bullshit courses.  I'm not gonna get started on that...

Back to the film on the top of your mouth discussion..I have never had those donut stix. And, for the record, carbon strands on the roof of your mouth isn't that bad of a thought. But the next time I eat some excessively sugary cereal, i will think of you, mindylieu. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and knowledge. wink.gif

I thought you were just making a dirty joke. Instead you have some of that otherwise useless Jeopardy! knowledge. I wish i had more of that.

Going back to this cereal topic, I just had dinner with two of my friends (from California, the crazy health nuts). Somehow we got onto the topic of cereal and they both said their parents wouldn't even let them eat Lucky Charms growing up, let alone the Cookie Crisp and Count Choc-ula my mom was happy to feed me. I felt a little trashy for a second before realizing I was probably a happier child.

Yeah. Who wants Total as a kid when you can have Fruit Loops? My kids will be able to pick whatever kind of cereal they want.

my dad was a striiiiict vegetarian. that means i couldn't enjoy snacks(at least not ones with animal fats and weird preservatives, which is the majority of them). i remember really wanting fruit loops so he went out and got me this cereal, fruity-o's, that were sweetened with a bunch of damn fruit juice. i have a lot of child vegetarian sob stories. but now i can eat rare steaks, chips ahoy creamwiches, jolly rancher gummies, and much more. so raising your kid vegitarian will cause them to eat unhealthy foods when they get older.
