i just got out of my "all things must pass" binge. i listened to that album off and on for about a month. it's so good, however, it's very sad.

as far as new cds are concerned:
--the new sigur ros () -- i get to see them in st. louis tomorrow night! I am very excited!
--interpol--turn on the bright lights

at work i listen to mtv.com streaming radio. i was kinda skeptical of it...i thought they'd play a lot of crap...but there's a few "stations" (brit-pop, altern80s, indie) that play awesome stuff. anything that plays "backwater" by brian eno is ok in my book. if you guys have fast internet connection, you should check it out.

I'm on a big Pavement kick lately. I've been listening to the re-release of Slanted and Enchanted. I also have their Slow Century DVD set but haven't had the chance to sit down and watch the whole thing yet.

Most recently I got the new Coldplay, Beck, Local H, Foo Fighters, and Pearl Jam albums. I'm still a little disappointed with the latter two.

I've also been digging the new EPs from local favorites Imaginary Baseball League and the falling.

Does that have "The Ballad of the Alamo" on it? I used to listen to that in my formative years.

I'm not cool. When I'm at home, I've been playing NHL 2003 on the GameCube. It has a soundtrack with bands like Jimmy Eat World on it. But I turn that crap off. In the car, I've been listening to talk radio lately. From what I've gathered, we're mad at some guy named Saddam and the Titans suck.

I dig that album. Lately I seem to be stuck on:

Rialto- Rialto & Rialto- Night on Earth
I don't know if they're a well-known band & I missed the boat, but I never hear anything about them and they actually have some great songs. They're somewhat in the vein of Oasis and Coldplay and Travis, but with a bit of an 80s sound. Some of it is cheesy, so be prepared.
Mercury Rev- All is Dream
like everyone else- Beck- Sea Change

And I've been trying out:
Apples in Stereo- Velocity of Sound
Of Montreal- Aldhils Arboretum
eels- Souljacker
Two sips from the cup of human kindness and I'm shitfaced

i'll echo everyone's feelings towards becks "sea change." brilliant. and since i haven't really had the funding to purchase any new cds lately, i took a look through some of my old ones just to see what was there. i stumbled upon the shins "oh, inverted world" which has been in heavy rotation ever since. i guess i just forgot i had it... rolleyes.gif and then there's always the white stripes "sympathy for the record industry," which is always on and very soothing to my ears.

neuboy and myself saw them several years ago at the kindercore festival in athens. what a pair of assholes. since their music was so quiet they asked people to go outside if they wished to chit-chat during their set. fuck them. they were in the 40 watt playing to an audience where maybe 13% knew who they were.

besides that it was a good time, although we thought it was gonna be a bit more unhinged
