Not sure what to do tonight....I heard of a party on Church in the Boro, but I live in Nashville and drinking and driving don't mix, right? Suggestions anyone?

I'm not cute or young, but I also am going to the Character/Joe, Marc's Brother show.

I'm as scorching as I think I am, but my girlfriend will get the honors tonight. Most of my hot friends, including a modest JamieCarroll, will be there.

I thought Joe marc's Brother was kind of a preppy, Vandy kid deal. I heard Character was really good though.

Joe Marc's Brother has never been a Vandy kid deal. In their earlier days, when they played with David Mead and their old bassist Pete Langella, it was basically power pop, but in a really good way. Then those two left and only the bass player was replaced. JMB kind of turned into a more experimental, avant garde pop, if you will. Since David and Pete are returning for a few songs, and JMB really hasn't played in a year, I don't know what to expect from the show, but they are one of my favorite bands ever, so I'm sure it will be excellent regardless.

I'm a preppy Vandy kid, but I'm not a fan of JMB. Character is pretty good stuff, though. I will not be at this show, but me and my roommates (3/4 of which are single and in their mid-20's like myself) are going to be hitting Hillsboro Village tonight (Jackson's, Trace, Sam's, etc.). We will be looking for cute girls to celebrate the New Year with.

By the way, I noticed you are a fan of both Bjork and Sina. We seem to have a lot in common...

Lies, lies

As one who has been on the inside and lived under the bubble, I can confidently say that most "Vandy kids" (I'm talking about undergrads, so Carl & Lauren don't be offended) are not into any local bands at all. They couldn't care less about going to see a band at a club. If there's not a frat party going on, they'd usually rather go downtown to Graham Central Station or Lonnie's or Bar Nashville, or anywhere with a DJ. If you're a Vandy kid and you're not that way, don't flame me. I know that there are people there who *are* into local music (hell, I was). But you have to admit that you're one in a hundred. I don't hate Vandy or their undergrad students; I'm just stating the facts.

i should've gone to tribe last night...there was this HOT HOT HOT guy working there that night me and kim escaped and went bar hopping while a one certain sinasugarsick done passed out.
