Roll Call!

The traffic on this site is going through the roof!  But, unfortunately, I don’t if it’s from curious newcomers or some of the old gang who actually posted on the site.  I’d like to know how many of the former FMB addicts members have found their way here.  So please do me a favor and sign in with a comment below.  I’d love to hear from each of you!

THANK YOU! I am so glad I can look back at what a dumb ass I was when I was 19!

It makes me really happy to hear from all of you again. Thanks for taking a moment to step out of the shadows and sign in! Keep ‘em coming!

Here’s a story I thought I’d share: As I was going through the board’s earliest posts and indexing them, I read a lot of posts from Sir BE2, and I thought, “You know… for years I’ve been reading about how great Brian Eno is, but I’ve never heard any of his music.” So I downloaded Music for Airports, and I actually kind of liked it. After all these years, the message board is still introducing me to great music. Thanks, ya’ll, for being so much smarter than me!

    is the archivist hott?

  14. March 25th, 2009 at 12:47 | #14

I just said that I listen to Brian Eno now. Does it get any hotter? (or would that be hotttter?)

i think that several of us share that sentiment (and shame), nicole.

ps – since we apparently love statistics on here, what’s the data on the hit counts over the past few days?

Can we have some sort of “Where are they now?” episode for board members?

  17. March 25th, 2009 at 15:05 | #17

freezetag, I’m already in negotiations with VH1 to film a special called “FMB: Behind the Posts.” They’ll be interviewing each of you so you can tell all about who was doing drugs, who was posting drunk, and who was sleeping with whom.

And, RD, since you asked… the stats are freakin’ through the roof! This thing has taken off more than I would’ve ever dreamed. We’ve had over 3,500 page hits from 350 visitors in just three days!

The main page and this blog are the most popular pages. The listing of members by name and the timeline are the next two on the list (but they’re quite a bit behind.) The infamous “Lurve” thread has been the most popular topic (no big surprise there).

Most of the visitors are from here in Middle Tennessee, but we’ve also gotten significant traffic from West Virginia, California, Georgia, Spain, and Germany.

The posting on Nashville Cream gave us 57 visitors. We got another 26 from the various Facebook postings. Tweleve people came here after clicking a link in their e-mail. Someone referenced the first Bonnaroo topic on an OAR fan site, and that gave us 7 visitors. But most people (248) just type the URL into their browser.

Feels like a high school reunion. I wonder how many work hours were wasted thanks to this message board :) Thanks for the memories.

There are still a few people that I haven’t been able to contact yet because I don’t have any information for them. Specifically, I’d like for ray davies, stalker on skates, Wiyum, Lauren, Ceeze, rachel / rachel1808, Buckley, and deevol / mike_D to know about this project. If you have any contact with these characters, would you please let them know about the archive? Or, if you’re shy, just send me their contact info, and I’ll drop them a note. Thanks!
