I'll be there.  Hopefully, I won't have to work early the next day...
Yeah! We'll call it "Freedom"! I like that. But "freedom" rhymes with "weefrom," like "Weefrom the land of rock!" What? It's good!

It's on the corner of Main and Broad in Murfreesboro.  Used to be Main Street, then Bongo Johnny, then Inferno Bar, then Sweetwater.

It's going to suck getting out of there with all that road work on Broad.

Going to try my best to be there.  It is the same night as the O'More fashion show, so it is going to be crazy.

Do you still work at O'More, mindylieu?  That's two blocks from my house.  You should let me take you to lunch sometime.

I was at The Boro last night for another great show from Kelly Kerr & The Distractions, and after their set, I got to thinking about some of the great shows that The Features have played there.  Then I started thinking about The Features' upcoming show at Main Street.

Historically, their late April/early May shows in Murfreesboro have been some of the greatest in their history.  Maybe it's because they use it as a tune-up before going on tour or going into the studio.  Maybe it's because it's the end of school, and everyone's excited about summer.  Maybe the guys in the band catch spring fever around this time of year and just go nuts when they play.  Whatever the reason, if anyone is on the fence about attending this show, history tells us that you should definitely go.

Here's the evidence...

May 2, 2002 - The Boro:  They unveiled "Damage Is Done" and "Someway, Somehow."  They played "Burma" and "Bumblebee" and covered "Jet."  Arguably the best show of the Post-Sergio/Pre-Bond era, this was the show that really "lit the fire" for many FMB members.

April 27, 2003 - Red Rose: Another classic show, featuring re-worked versions of "Harold" and the re-worked "The Idea of Growing Old."

April 30, 2004 - MTSU: Played outside during the short lifespan of "Love Is Golden"

What more encouragement could you need to be at Main Street on Thursday night?

I'd like to check this show out.  Not a big HIBTB fan, though.  Also, not big on a 3 band bill on a Thursday night.  Bah humbug....I'll probably stay in and hang out at my own bar.
Parrish was the circus.

I heard they stopped playing it because Parrish didn't like it.  Maybe we can work on them now to bring it back...and Harder to Ignore.

Update: This show is now a benefit for Chuck Bruner (my boyfriend) and James Robbins, of Grand Palace, who were both shot in an attempted carjacking in E. Nashville on April 24.

Grand Palace will have prints specially priced between $5-$10 with all sales benefiting Chuck and James.

I hope to see everyone there!

It's confirmed. I'll be there.

On a somewhat related note, I saw Matt buying beer earlier at my Publix.

Matt can't rock out without his juice.

I'm planning to be there, too.  Look for me.  I'm the guy who looks like Tom Foolery.
