I was at The Boro last night for another great show from Kelly Kerr & The Distractions, and after their set, I got to thinking about some of the great shows that The Features have played there. Then I started thinking about The Features' upcoming show at Main Street.
Historically, their late April/early May shows in Murfreesboro have been some of the greatest in their history. Maybe it's because they use it as a tune-up before going on tour or going into the studio. Maybe it's because it's the end of school, and everyone's excited about summer. Maybe the guys in the band catch spring fever around this time of year and just go nuts when they play. Whatever the reason, if anyone is on the fence about attending this show, history tells us that you should definitely go.
Here's the evidence...
May 2, 2002 - The Boro: They unveiled "Damage Is Done" and "Someway, Somehow." They played "Burma" and "Bumblebee" and covered "Jet." Arguably the best show of the Post-Sergio/Pre-Bond era, this was the show that really "lit the fire" for many FMB members.
April 27, 2003 - Red Rose: Another classic show, featuring re-worked versions of "Harold" and the re-worked "The Idea of Growing Old."
April 30, 2004 - MTSU: Played outside during the short lifespan of "Love Is Golden"
What more encouragement could you need to be at Main Street on Thursday night?
