Just wanted to poke my head in and hopefully provide some answers and a little background on the show.
First, this was most definitely the first Nashville show with Mark Bond. The show they had before that was playing some sort of New Year's Eve show opening for The Raconteurs in New York City.
Second, 2006 was a shitty year for me--which is why I decided to buy a plane ticket from Dallas, Texas to Nashville, TN to see my favorite band. To be honest, I was a little worried that, with all the troubles with the label and having a member drop out, that my favorite band wouldn't be around much longer.

Now...some Features Message Board history:
If you go through the old archives and the "timeline" of important events you will notice that a user called "hollismusic" was the last new user before the board went down. THAT WAS ME!

I signed up and posted a question asking if anyone knew whether or not the band or management allowed recording at shows.

I e-mailed the band's management and got the okay--so it was off to Guitar Center to pick up two matching condenser microphones. I carried my Korg Multitrack recorder in my carry-on and recieved some funny looks when I pulled it out to be X-rayed at airport security.
This was my first time in Nashville and I must say: I had an amazing time. Country Music Hall of Fame, RCA studio tour, Music Row, coffee on Sunday in the park in front of the Parthenon--it was really, really great.
The show was a tremendous amount of fun as well. I set up in the back where the sound guys were and one of the sound techs noticed my boom mic stand was getting knocked around a little by rambunctious fans, so he let me set my stand behind the guard barrier with the sound guys. Awesome.
Matt and Roger were also really cool to do an interview with me after the show. I'm sure they were exhausted. They didn't have to do that, so I'm really grateful.
Anyway, I had a really amazing 2007 which actually ended in Nashville AGAIN for another Features show on the Mercy Lounge side on New Year's Eve. Too cool.
That first trip to Nashville is a really great memory for me and I was happy that the recording came out half-way decent--it's like a really amazing souvenir from the trip. I'm in law school now, so trips like that are basically totally impossible, so I'm glad I did it when I could. Everyone I met in Nashville was incredibly friendly which also made my trip even better.
So, thanks Nashvillians!
