Monsters Vs. Aliens
« on: April 01, 2009, 11:03:35 AM »
I tend to like Pixar movies but not Shrek movies.  Should I see this in the theater with 3D glasses or just miss this one?

Forget Monsters vs. Aliens!  I'm saving my money to see "Man vs. Cheetah!"

I haven't seen the movie in question, but I would suggest that you skip it or wait until it comes out on DVD.  Like you, I'm a Pixar snob.  All of the other cartoons seem to rely too much on potty/gross-out humor, and I doubt this one would be an exception.  Besides, I don't think the current 3D technology is that great.  It just gives me a headache.  So save your $8.50 and rent it for $0.99 in a few months.

I dunno, for some reason I've heard nothing but good things. Is this even out yet? Am I hearing informed opinions?

Why would anyone want to waste their money on a piece of crap like that???

I ended up seeing it last weekend.  It was pretty enjoyable.  Not Incredibles enjoyable, but not bad.  It uses a lot of Pixar motifs (rag tag bunch of friends who pull together to do something amazing), but it was pretty funny with good action and animation.  Worth seeing for the 3D on the big screen.  Stephen Colbert as the president is great too.
